Reset. Build. Next Rep.
about me
Hi! I’m Kirya - a former Division I shortstop turned full-time softball and strength coach. I’ve spent the last 20+ years in this sport, and it has shaped everything about who I am as a player, a coach, and a person.Softball took me from my hometown in West Virginia all the way to Morehead State University, where I earned my Exercise Science degree and started all four years as a D1 athlete. My primary position was shortstop, and one of my favorite memories was making ESPN’s Top 10 Plays — ranking #3 for a diving catch. While I was still playing, I trained a few athletes on the side, but my passion for coaching didn’t really take off until I graduated. I started working with local athletes back home while pursuing my personal training certification. I tried training in a gym for a bit, but I quickly realized something was missing - I wanted to work with athletes. I wanted to be back in the environment that shaped me.Now, I coach full-time: private softball lessons, strength & conditioning for athletes, and online personal training. This is exactly where I’m meant to be.My Coaching Philosophy
Softball taught me more than mechanics and reps. It taught me mental health, resilience, and how to keep showing up even when you’re struggling.
I was a great ball player, but mentally? I fought myself a lot. I played scared. I played anxious. I played like one mistake defined me. It wasn’t until my senior year that I finally understood the truth:
Softball is a game of failure - and the best athletes know how to bounce back FAST.
I learned how to reset.
I learned how to not stack mistake on top of mistake.
I learned how to have “short-term memory loss” and attack the next rep, no matter what happened before it.
And honestly? I learned all of this too late.
That’s why I coach the way I do now.
Every athlete who works with me will learn the mental game just as much as the physical one. Because hitting bombs is cool, but it’s not what makes a GREAT athlete.
Mindset + Mechanics + Effort = the complete player.
That’s my mission - to build confident, resilient athletes who aren’t afraid to fail, grow, and compete with heart.

I don’t just teach mechanics, I build competitors. I’m a former Division I collegiate softball player who started all 4 years at Morehead State, and I bring that experience into every lesson. My training is built on effort, accountability, and game-like intensity so athletes learn how to perform when it matters most.

Encouraging, challenging, and fun. I push athletes to be their best while keeping things positive and supportive. We’ll build confidence, build skills, and build habits that show up in the game, and in life!
